At many of the schools I currently teach at students work on and are quite proficient across multiple digital devices. Some schools offer a device specific environment, whilst others encourage a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy. While this means students have access to the internet, oftentimes a students’ experience is determined by the chosen software/operating system. Continue reading Flipboard for the classroom

Inquiry Question

“How can we make learning Art History easier, enjoyable, relevant and interactive? And how do we instil a sense of ownership over the learning process for students who often prefer learning via visual means?”

“’In Visual Arts Stage 6 students develop skills in the use of both contemporary and traditional technology in … art criticism and art history.” – Visual Arts Stage 6 Syllabus (BOS, 2010)

Art History Timeline

As part of a class project we wish to explore the benefits of creating a digital Art History Timeline, that students could potentially contribute to in class.

Welcome to The Digital Art Room

This blog has been established primarily as a project piece for our class ‘Designing Learning for a Digital Generation’ within a Postgraduate Teaching Degree at UTS (Sydney). The aim is to look at emerging digital technologies and their implications in the classroom, specifically within the High School Art Class.

I anticipate things will change as I work through whats required for class and we figure out how this can best be used.
